Eureka moments can strike at any time, anywhere. It struck Julio Moncada back in 2010 when he realised that his passion for fine ales was in fact a signpost to forging a new career. Julio had found himself at a career crossroad and one of the pointers was in the direction of catering. He thought about developing a deli.

But then he attended a course on the fine art of brewing…and his eureka moment struck. Julio realised that the true path he really wished to follow was the one that led him to launch the Moncada Brewery in autumn 2011.

It was a career choice that has been much appreciated by those who have sampled his distinctive and distinguished beers. Sold under the Notting Hill name, you have a choice of three very different ales to suit all tastes: Blonde, Bitter and Amber.

Moncada Brewery is also doing its bit for recycling. Julio knows that most of the recycling of his delicious brews is done by you but we would also like you to know that all the spent barley goes to our favourite farmer to be enjoyed by his contented pigs, the hops are used on a local allotment in Notting Hill to enrich the soil, and the beer yeast goes to a local baker for use in puffing up her superb pretzels.

In addition, we like to thank both Julio and Eleonora for their warm welcome and support when we visited them at the brewery, the beer taste as delicious as they look! We will be around soon again:-)
